About Us

Made in Lancashire has a great selection of local producers, retailers and hospitality businesses all keen to showcase the fantastic local produce they have available to you to buy, eat, and enjoy. We started in 2001, managed by and based at Myerscough College, with a small amount of funding to become established Then in 2002 as part of the Fantastic Foods Partnership, nearly £5m of funding was provided by NWDA and DEFRA to support the regions local food and drink industry. The funding arrived post the foot & mouth disease, in Lancashire and it was used to establish the Made in Lancashire brand and to support farmers to diversify and find new routes to market for their products. During the first few years of Made in Lancashire the membership grew to incorporate primary and secondary food producers, retail outlets and service establishments. The support evolved to help businesses grow and promote locally made produce to raise the profile with consumers and encourage a think, buy and eat local ethos. We want to drive Lancashire forward as the County for Local Food and Drink.
